I go on, endlessly, about creating healthy habits and sticking to them, but I rarely talk about the ones that I’ve actually made myself. Making others aware of your plans and habits is a great way to stay accountable, which means keeping on track with what you’re up to. With that in mind, how have my habits been going?

Weekly blogging
Last August I endeavoured to change my strategy with blogging and wanted to make two posts a week and get on Instagram every day of the week for social media promotions and whatnot. So many months on, I’ve actually taken a lot of time away from blogging, which can be really important sometimes.
I’m now back to blogging weekly and am pretty happy with this. It’d be great to post more frequently than this to increase my production, and make more money from ads and affiliate links, but I’d rather this than risk burnout.
Working out
March was an awful month for my health. Not because I went through anything life changing – it was just a cold and tonsillitis, but that meant keeping away from my fitness goals for quite some time. However, I’ve been getting a workout in – whether that’s at the gym, going for walks or at home, at least three times a week since recovering, so am on track for looking like Chris Evans (the superhero, not the presenter) pretty soon.
Estoy aprendiendo Español
I’ve been learning Spanish pretty consistently for about 900 days but, following a recent trial of Super Duolingo, their premium language-learning service, have started to take it a touch more seriously. I go to Spain every year so am determined to be fluent one day.
Getting on with coding
A friend and I recently decided to learn how to code and have started with Python. Both of us love using tech in our jobs, so getting to grips with how some of these programmes and hardware work has been an interesting endeavour. We’re doing an hour a week and are total novices, but have really enjoyed getting started.

Reading and writing
My creative writing has dried up. While I try to treat it like a habit, like any other, there’s still a certain amount of creativity that I need to feel to be able to dedicate much time to it. It’s still in the weekly calendar though, so I’ve not given up hope entirely just yet.
I’ve been reading more too, but since I tend to do this just before going to sleep, it’s easier said than done; sometimes, you simply want to drop off. I’ve been trying to get into the habit of going to bed earlier and setting up with a big pillow and sleepy tea (the herbal stuff with lavender and camomile) to encourage this habit.
How are your habits going? Let me know down below and let’s keep each other accountable.
